A teenager has been arrested after officers found a stolen moped in a living room store cupboard.
Reacher officers found the vehicle while making enquiries at a property in Bailey Street, Old Basford, at around 7.30am on 29 September 2021.
They were able to return the moped to its owner – after it had been stolen the previous day from Mount Street, in the city centre.
Officers also seized a suspected dangerous dog after they were lucky to escape uninjured as the dog tried to attack them as they entered the house.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and released under investigation.
Detective constable Kelly Holloway, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thefts can have a huge impact on victims as not only are they left without their personal items, but it can also affect them emotionally and impact upon their day-to-day life.
“Officers have worked quickly, in this case, to try and identify the suspect and locate the stolen vehicle.
“The rightful owner has now been reunited with their moped thanks to the swift action taken by officers in acting on information given to them by member of the public.”
Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 422 of 28 September 2021.
