Storm Darragh: Clumber Park to CLOSE on Saturday

National Trust property Clumber Park will close on Saturday 7 because of the weather forecast.

The NT said:

‘Following our post yesterday regarding the cancellation of this weekend’s events, the decision has been made to close the park fully to visitors tomorrow, Saturday 7 December.

‘The Met Office is indicating that winds will peak above safe limits at Clumber Park throughout Saturday. The decision has therefore been taken to close the park to all visitors in line with our high winds policy. Post storm inspections will follow once the wind speed drops to a safe level.

‘The team will continue to monitor the weather and based on the forecast as we send this message, we expect to be able to open late morning on Sunday, however, please check our social media channels and website for updates before travelling.

‘For visitors with bookings to see Father Christmas on Sunday afternoon, a member of the team will contact you if we are unable to open as planned on Sunday. If it hasn’t been possible to reach you, please contact clumberprogramming@nationaltrust.org.uk

‘We would like to thank you for your support with this. As a charity, we rely heavily on all our supporters, and we cannot do what we do without you. It is our visitor business that enables us to deliver our conservation work and continue the development of the park. Limiting access to Clumber is something that we want to avoid but the safety of our people and visitors must be our priority.’
