Two suspects were arrested and stolen jewellery recovered after police used a stinger to stop a car following a robbery.
Officers were alerted to the robbery around 11.15pm on Tuesday (25 November) when the victim reported meeting two men to sell gold bracelets.
The victim got into a car at the junction of Langton Road and New Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to complete the sale.
He reported being handed counterfeit currency in exchange for the jewellery and was threatened when he questioned this.
The victim got out of the car and fled with the vehicle driving off at speed towards Kirkby Road.
Officers from the Road Crime Team worked quickly to trace the car and stopped it safely using a stinger at Kelham, near Newark.
The stolen bracelets and a quantity of suspected counterfeit currency were seized from within the car.
Two men, aged 20 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. The 20-year-old was further detained on suspicion of affray and the 43-year-old on suspicion of drug-driving.
Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This rapid and efficient response to reports of a robbery has resulted in two suspects being arrested and stolen items recovered.
“Robbery is an extremely serious offence because of the impact it has on victims.
“I would urge anyone selling items online and meeting potential buyers to take every possible precaution to avoid becoming a victim of crime.”
