Police have arrested a further suspect as part of an investigation into a man’s murder.

Darren Davis, 46, was fatally stabbed in Radford Boulevard, Radford, at around 3.45pm on Wednesday (10 August 2022).

Detectives investigating the attack have now arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.

Detectives have been working round the clock on the investigation for the last week and charged two suspects with murder on 17 August.

Younis, of Graham Street, Radford, and Aziz, of Ilkeston Road, Radford, will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (22 August).

Detective Inspector Melanie Crutchley, who is leading the investigation, said: “This has been a long and extensive investigation that has seen our team of detectives work tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened, for which I’m extremely grateful.

“I can only imagine how distressing the last week or so has been for Darren’s family, so I’d also like to sincerely thank them for their patience and understanding, and for trusting us to find the truth on their behalf.

“We have now arrested a further suspect as part of this case, but I’d like to reiterate this is still very much an ongoing investigation, and as such, it’s really important that anyone with information comes forward.

“Every piece of information we can gather will get us closer to bringing those responsible for Darren’s murder to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 481 of 10 August 2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
