A suspect is due to appear in court after a teenager had part of his finger cut off during a knife incident at a party.
Police were called to Skipton Circus, Sneinton, Nottingham, at around 2.30 am on 9 July 2023 after the victim was attacked following an argument.
The teenager needed hospital treatment for his injuries after being slashed during the incident.
Detectives carried out a detailed investigation and arrested a suspect on Friday (21 July).
A 21-year-old man from Nottingham has now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (24 July).
Detective Constable Abi Page, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very serious assault and I hope our response in locating, arresting and charging this suspect provides reassurance to the victim and the wider community.
“The victim required surgery in hospital and, as so often with any knife crime, the consequences could have been even worse.
“Engaging with people so they can be educated about the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife is central to our ongoing work to try and prevent people coming to harm from weapon-enabled crime.”
