Teenager remains critically injured after e-scooter crash

A teenager remains in critical but stable condition after a collision between a vehicle and an e-scooter.

The 19-year-old man was seriously injured after the e-scooter he was riding was involved in a crash on the A453, in Clifton yesterday (22 November) at around 2pm.

All lanes both inbound and outbound on the A453 between Farnborough Road and Sunninghill Drive remained closed for some time yesterday afternoon and evening with road users asked to make alternate plans.

Constable Amanda Sutherland, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and are supporting the victim’s family as he remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

“We would like to thank people and drivers for their patience yesterday while we investigated the incident and worked on clearing the road.

“The road remained closed until late yesterday evening with one lane being reopened inbound to help with the build-up of traffic.

“Investigations are continuing into what happened, but we would like to urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any CCTV footage or dash-cam footage to get in touch with us as it may help us with our enquires.”
