Owners of The Ivy brand have applied to Nottingham City Council for a premises license for a new Nottingham restaurant.
The Ivy was founded in Covent Garden in central London in 1917 by Abel Giandolini and Mario Gallati, before they went on to open restaurant Le Caprice.
The Ivy describes itself as ‘a true icon of British dining.’ Since opening its doors in 1917, it has earned a ‘reputation for impeccable service, timeless elegance, and a passion for exceptional food that continues to inspire generations of diners.’
In 2005, Mr Caring bought the Caprice Holdings group, before spinning off the Ivy Collection arm to expand the restaurant brand.
The expansion spawned a number of The Ivy branded restaurants and The Ivy Brasserie locations across the UK.
The business will open at the former Hugo Boss store on Bridlesmith Gate in the city centre.
The chain includes 15 London locations, six in the South West, twelve in the South East, six in the North West and Yorkshire, one in Norwich and one in Birmingham.
