The West Bridgford School announces record A Level Results

Students at West Bridgford School have achieved outstanding A Level results, representing the school’s best ever performance for a non-COVID year.

Their sustained hard work has delivered an average grade of B+ (Average Point Score of 41.70) with an impressive 89% of grades at A*-C.

Cameron Bowie, Director of Post-16 shared, “These exceptional results showcase what happens when students commit to excellence from day one of Year 12. Successful students have made the most of every day of their time at West Bridgford, with teachers enjoying working alongside them in lessons before students utilise the Individual Study Room during study periods to focus on their work and build consistent study habits. Their commitment has been inspiring”.

Siân Lynch, Director of P16 Academic Standards, said, “What distinguishes these students is their dedication to developing essential life skills alongside serving their community. They have mastered time management, embraced academic self-reflection, and demonstrated maturity in seeking help when needed. This growth mindset has enabled them to balance academic excellence with contributing to school life as mentors, participating in charity events, pursuing enrichment activities, and maintaining well-being through interests outside school”.

“These outstanding results reflect not only individual student dedication but also the strong foundation provided by the local community. Supportive parents who champion learning, excellent local primary schools that prepare students exceptionally well for secondary education, and a broader community culture that treasures academic achievement have all contributed to this remarkable success.

“The school also warmly welcomes students who join from other institutions, and treasures the fresh perspectives, drive, and dedication they consistently bring to enrich the learning environment for all students.

“These outstanding grades are richly deserved by our students who have worked tirelessly and grown tremendously during their time with us,” said Tim Peacock, Headteacher. “The results speak for themselves – when committed students meet a supportive teaching and learning culture backed by an engaged community, great achievements follow naturally. We wish them the very best in all of their future endeavours.”
