Three cars stolen from the same house in Clifton

Detectives have arrested three suspects after cars were stolen from the same house.

Police received reports that three cars had been taken during a car key burglary in Brandish Crescent, Clifton.

The keys are understood to have all been taken from inside the house at some point in the early hours of Friday morning (15 April 2022).

Officers spotted the stolen vehicle being driven along Green Lane, Clifton, at around 11.10pm the same day.

After a short pursuit, police managed to bring the vehicle to a stop.

A knife was seized from the boot of the car, while an illegal zombie knife was also discovered during a search of the house of one of the suspects hours later.

Three male suspects, aged 18, 15 and 14 were all arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a bladed article.

They remain in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We can confirm that we have arrested three suspects, following reports of a car key burglary from a house.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing, so we’d ask anyone to get in touch with us immediately should they have any information, however small, that could assist us with our investigation.

“I’d also like to make the public aware of recent changes to legislation under The Offensive Weapons Act 2019, which means it is now illegal to have certain types of knives and other items, even at home in private.

“This includes zombie knives, flick knives, butterfly knives, curved swords, throwing stars, knuckledusters and telescopic truncheons.”

Anyone who has information about this incident is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 141 of 16 April 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
