A trio of suspected drug dealers were arrested following three raids on the same street in Newark.
Drugs, cash, suspected stolen property and an illegal dog were all seized during the simultaneous warrants.
Multiple policing teams visited neighbouring properties in Yorke Drive on Friday (19 July) morning to execute the raids.
Targeted activity was carried out by the force in response to reports linking the addresses to drug activity, theft and other types of criminality.
The county priority tasking team were involved, as well as Operational Support officers from the Tactical Support Group (TSG) and the dog unit.
A battering ram was used to force entry into one of the houses, with police then rushing in and detaining a suspect inside.
Quantities of Class A drugs – namely cocaine – were discovered in the house, along with cash, mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia.
Police also found a device linked to the theft of vehicles and an XL bully breed dog inside the property, which was seized from the address.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, conspiring to steal from a vehicle, and possessing a prohibited dog.
While this was taking place, officers spotted two people approaching the house, who immediately aroused their suspicions.
Both then tried to run away when they were approached, with an officer chasing one down on foot and police dog Reno and his handler detaining another suspect.
A bag containing around 40 wraps of Class A drugs was recovered by the pursuing officers, while one of the suspects had large quantities of cash on them.
Following these two stops, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
A 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.
TSG officers executing a warrant at one of the other two properties also found a leaf blower and strimmer that had been reported as stolen.
As a result, a 31-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
Inspector Charlotte Ellam, District Commander for Newark and Sherwood, said: “This coordinated activity provided a fantastic example of our different policing teams working together to get a positive result.
“After we received intelligence linking these properties to criminal behaviour – namely drug activity – a plan was drawn up to execute three simultaneous warrants.
“Thanks to the professionalism shown by everyone involved, this tactic worked really well and we were able to seize quantities of drugs and arrest three suspected drug dealers.
“We were also able to recover stolen property and make more arrests for a number of other offences too.
“Tackling drug activity, especially those suspected of supplying these substances, is one of our leading policing priorities in Newark and Sherwood.
“This operation should showcase just how seriously we take reports of this nature and that we will look to take positive action as a police force.
“I’d hope that it also provides some reassurance to the community that we will listen and respond to any reports or concerns expressed to us around criminality by members of the public.
“We will be conducting extra patrols of the area over the coming days to provide locals with some extra reassurance and to disrupt and deter any further incidents.
“As always, we’d ask that anyone who has any concerns around criminality in Newark and Sherwood contacts the police on 101, or reports it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
