Two arrests as officers seize drugs in Radford

The arrests were made after officers spotted two people acting suspiciously on Auckland Close at 6.14pm on Monday (September 21).

After noticing patrolling officers, the men attempted to run, however, they were quickly detained following a short chase.

A search uncovered a large bag and a smaller bag of suspected cannabis, as well as a quantity of cash.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

A second 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a Class B drug.

Both have been bailed pending further investigation.

PC Anthony Harwood, of the Radford Road Response Team, said: “This was a great result that not only led to two arrests but also the seizure of a large amount of Class B drugs.

“Our message is clear: we will continue to take proactive action to stop drug dealing wherever it is taking place.”
