Nottinghamshire Police is leading the response to a serious collision the A1.
7 am – The road has fully reopened
The road was closed at around 11 pm in both directions between the A6075 (Tuxford) and A46 (Newark-on-Trent) due to the collision. Northbound has since reopened.
National Highways has deployed contractors to support the police response with traffic management
Nottinghamshire Police remain on scene to carry out a collision investigation.
The road is expected to remain closed until at least the morning peak travel period.
Diversion Routes
Southbound Traffic
Road users travelling southbound are advised to follow the solid Triangle diversion symbol.
- Exit the A1 southbound at Apleyhead Interchange.
- Follow the A614 south for approximately 11 km to the A614/A616 roundabout.
- Turn left onto the A616 and continue through Ompton and Kneesall to South Muskham (approximately 12 km).
- At the South Muskham mini-roundabout, turn left onto the B6325.
- Continue to North Muskham Interchange.
- At the roundabout, take the third exit to rejoin the A1 southbound.
