The A38 northbound is currently closed between the B600 near Alfreton and the M1 at J28 following a collision involving three vehicles.

The collision involving three vehicles occured at 12:36 today. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance crews, are on scene responding to the incident.
The closure has been put in place to provide a safe working environment for all responders as they carry out essential duties.

National Highways traffic officers are also in attendance, assisting with traffic management. Recovery has been requested and will begin work to remove the vehicles once emergency services have completed their initial operations.
Diversion route
Road users are advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol visible on local road signs.
- Exit the A38 at the slip road for the B600 Alfreton.Turn left onto the B600 Nottingham Road and continue along this road.
- Turn left at the signalised junction onto Cotes Park Lane.
- Turn left onto Clover Nook Road and follow it through.
- Turn left at the T‑junction onto Birchwood Lane at the mini roundabout.
- Turn left at the roundabout to rejoin the northbound A38.
