The A52 westbound has been closed overnight after a serious collision.

The road has reopened
The A52 in Derbyshire is closed westbound between the the M1 J25 (Risley, Stapleford) and A5111 (Spondon) following a serious multi-vehicle collision.
Derbyshire Police are leading the response and were supported by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance.

Collision investigation works are coming to a conclusion. Once complete, recovery and clean up works will take place and then the road will reopen.
Diversion Route
Westbound traffic should follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol on road signs:
- From the A52/M1 Junction 25 and take the 2nd exit at the roundabout to join the M1 southbound.
- Continue on the M1 to Junction 24a.
- Exit at J24a onto the A50 westbound and continue for approximately 7.8km.
- At J2 take the exit onto the A6 northbound.
- Continue on the A6 for approximately 2.3km to Thulston Roundabout.
- Take the 2nd exit to continue along the A6 Alvaston Bypass, then continue straight onto the A5111 after Raynesway Park Junction.
- Follow the A5111 to the junction with the A52 and take the exit slip to rejoin the A52 westbound.
