Van seized by police after ‘driving sideways’ along the M1 in Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire Police Roads Policing Unit and the DVSA carried out a joint operation on the M1.

This resulted in a number of vehicles being prohibited and seized for a number of defects and offences which has meant that the road network has been made just that little bit safer for us all in Nottinghamshire.

Police said:

‘The pictured van should never have been on the road. Rusting all over, the rear axle was actually out of alignment from a previous collision which explained why the van had been driving sideways along the M1.

‘This was in such a dangerous condition that the van was prohibited and seized immediately for being in a dangerous condition with the driver reported for a number of offences.’
