Victim suffers bleed on the brain after broad daylight Clifton assault

A man suffered a bleed on the brain after he was assaulted in broad daylight.

Detectives are continuing with their enquiries into the assault, which happened in Clifton, and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident, to get in touch.

The incident happened in Southchurch Drive, near the Cornerstone Centre, shortly before 2.15pm on Wednesday 16 June 2021.

It’s believed the victim was kicked in the side, causing him to fall to the floor and bang his head, knocking him unconscious.

He suffered a small bleed on the brain and fractured ribs. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including checking CCTV footage in the area, to help us fully understand the circumstances of this serious incident and to identify the offender responsible.

“We know there were a lot of people in the area around the time and I’d urge anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward to help us with our investigation.

“There is no place for violence on our streets and we are using every tactic at our disposal in order to get to the bottom of what happened.
