A man was punched and suffered a fractured cheekbone after a disagreement over payment.
A 42-year-old man allegedly drove to a house in Clifton whilst drunk to confront the victim.
The man walked away from the scene, but was quickly arrested by officers on suspicion of actual bodily harm and drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. He remains in police custody.
Officers were called to Lythe Close in Clifton at around 11.45pm last night following a report of the assault.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police Sergeant Janine Barnes of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This assault took place after a brief altercation between the victim and a visitor to the property. Officers arrived on the scene very quickly and later arrested a suspect at a nearby hotel.
“Assaults like this can have life-changing consequences for both victims and offenders and will always be treated with the utmost seriousness by Nottinghamshire Police.”
