The fire is thought to be at a premises on Poulton Drive near Lady Bay Bridge.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service issued the update at 7:30 pm 22 September.
A spokesperson said:
‘We are in attendance at a large fire on Freeth Street Nottingham.
‘Please can people in the area around Trent Bridge please keep their windows closed as there is a lot of smoke in the area.’
A video shows what appears to be a shipping container or storage unit engulfed in flames.

We are in contact with Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service who confirm the incident but haven’t updated us yet with more information.
