The driver had left the vehicle by the time emergency services arrived at the scene.
Pictures show the car in a ditch with extensive damage.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘During the early hours of Monday 31 July, firefighters from Ashfield Fire Station responded to a road traffic collision in Kirkby in Ashfield.
‘Luckily the driver walked away from this and had left the vehicle before we arrived.
‘They were cared for by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
‘We do not know why this happened and are in no way suggesting it was due to one of the Fatal5.’
