A warning has been issued by Nottingham City Council.
A spokesperson said on Wednesday 13 August:
‘There is a currently a blue-green algae bloom in the lake.
‘While it’s a natural occurrence, it can be harmful to both people and pets if swallowed or if there’s close contact.
‘For everyone’s safety:
‘Please keep dogs out of the water and stop them from drinking it.
‘Please avoid swimming or paddling in the lake per our site rules.
‘Signs are in place as a reminder. Thank you for helping us keep the park safe and enjoyable for all.’
