Winter Wonderland Nottingham video viewed over 1.3 million times

Our video from the top of the observation wheel down onto Nottingham Winter Wonderland has been viewed over 1.1 million times on Facebook alone.

The video was shot on an iPhone 14 Pro Max from the wheel the day the attraction opened two weeks ago.

Difficulties in always getting the right shot first time from a small suspended box 113 feet high, meant we took four trips ( revolutions ) around the wheel before we felt it was usable as an edit.

Watch the video below.

It shows in detail the Winter Wonderland setup and probably the first real view shot of the elevated skating track around the site in use since opening, with skaters enjoying the new ice rink layout.

As well as the Facebook views, which currently sit at 1.1m, the video was viewed 188,000 times on TikTok and 13,700 times on Instagram Reels. Views are still counting up every day.

On Facebook it reached an audience of 2.5 million users, attracted, 22,500 comments 3,800 shares and 15,000 reactions.

@westbridgfordwirenews A ride on the observation wheel at Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland. The wheel takes people 108 ft ( 33 m ) above the attractions, it’s the only way you can get to see the skaters on the 400 metre long sky skating ice rink that covers the perimeter, without actually going skating! #foryoupage #fyp #nottingham #winter #winterwonderland2022 #winterwonderland #christmas #iceskating #iceskate #icebar #notts #nottinghamshire #wheel #observationwheel #skating #christmastree #merrygoround ♬ original sound – West Bridgford Wire News
