Woman arrested after burglary in Nottingham

A woman was arrested by police officers responding to reports of a house burglary.

Officers were called to an address in Charlesworth Avenue, New Basford, at around 10.25am on Monday (25 July 2022).

It was reported a suspect had gained access to the terraced property through a kitchen window.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary.

It is not believed any property was taken during the incident.

Detective Sergeant Alana Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are committed to tackling burglary and ensuring people feel safe in their homes.

“After this incident we swiftly arrested a suspect and I would like to thank the officers involved for their rapid response.

“We understand how devastating burglaries and thefts can be. That’s why we will always take these kind of reports extremely seriously.

“I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has any information to get in touch with us.”
