Woman assaulted and staff threatened at Nottingham city bar

After further investigation it was alleged the suspect had also assaulted a woman and he was further arrested.

A man has admitted to attacking a woman and threatening bar staff.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were quick on the scene in the city centre following reports of the incident where a suspect shouted at and threatened staff at Lloyds Bar in Carlton Street.

Officers arrived at 9.10pm on Monday (30 August 2021) and within four minutes they arrested a man on suspicion of using threatening behaviour.

After further investigation it was alleged the suspect had also assaulted a woman and he was further arrested.

A 27-year-old man from New Basford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday 1 September 2021) and pleaded guilty to charges of using threatening behaviour and assault by beating.

He was granted conditional bail and will reappear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 7 September 2021 for sentencing .

Detective Sergeant Nicola Faulkner, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The force takes all reports of violence and threats to public order and community safety seriously and, as this swift action shows, we will always take appropriate action to keep people safe.”
