A woman has been left frightened to drive after a large stone was thrown deliberately over a fence at her windscreen.
Officers have released images to the damage to her car and also the stone, in the help that they might be able to find the offender.
Police Constable Ty Foers is leading the investigation. He said: “The victim is understandably shaken up and we all thankful that no one was injured.
“The incident happened on the A57 in Worksop at around 3.50pm on Sunday (27 September 2020).
“The woman has just passed under the footbridge in between Cavendish Road and Windmill Lane, heading east, when an unknown offender has thrown a large stone.
“The stone struck the windscreen, causing it to smash. Luckily the stone did not injure the driver and she did amazingly well to keep calm and stop the vehicle safely.
“We are now appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard the incident or been in the area. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage.
“The offender is described as a white man, aged around mid-teens with a medium build, he had short blonde hair and was wearing a navy blue zipped hooded top.
“If you can help please call 101, quoting incident number 448 of 27 September 2020.”
