Work starts on new school and 470 homes in Nottinghamshire village

Construction work has officially started on the site that will ultimately bring 470 new homes and a new school to Bramcote.

National housebuilder Miller Homes has broken ground on its parcel of land, which forms part of the wider 40-acre site located off Coventry Lane in the Nottinghamshire village.

Miller Homes intends to release its first homes for sale to the public in early 2026, from its mix of two- to five-bedroom homes being built on the land at its development, which will be known as Bramcote Hills Rise.

The wider scheme, which will also feature new housing from St. Modwen Homes, will include a new purpose-built secondary school located adjacent to Bramcote College. It will be delivered from the proceeds of the land sale to the developers by Nottinghamshire County Council.

A total of 141 of the new homes to be delivered to the area will be made available as affordable housing.

Emma Weston, Sales Director for Miller Homes East Midlands, said: “We are very pleased to have broken ground on a landmark development for Miller Homes in Bramcote, with construction work now underway on the first of our homes.

“It is with great pride that we are able to deliver these new homes to the village of Bramcote, as well as support the local education system with the funding of a brand-new school, which is a key part of sustaining a new homes scheme by creating or enabling the infrastructure around it.

“While work begins on the site itself, we are planning to release our first homes for sale to the public in the early part of this year, with details already available via our website. Interested buyers should register their interest with Miller Homes to be the first to know about our new releases when the time comes.

“Bramcote Hills Rise will feature sustainable and energy-efficient new housing, as well as areas of public open space and play areas for families and children to enjoy. We are committed to creating a community to be proud of and strengthening Bramcote’s housing delivery to support generations of new homeowners, both now and in the future.”

The land being transformed into new housing by Miller Homes and St. Modwen Homes had previously been underutilised as a playing field, identified by Broxtowe Borough Council as suitable for new housing.

Planning permission for the new school facility funded by the land sale will provide 950 new school places for students in and around Bramcote, including 200 sixth-form places.
