World Book Day, taking place on Thursday 5th March 2020, is on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own, as well as being a celebration of authors, illustrators and books.
Most importantly, it’s a celebration of reading.
Nottingham City Transport said:
‘Reading is a great activity to do when you’re travelling on the bus and to encourage more people to read on board, we’re offering free travel to everyone who shows a book to the driver when boarding the bus on World Book Day.
‘No vouchers, no codes, just show the driver a book on 5th March 2020 and travel for free!
‘For simplicity on the day for our drivers and to minimise potential abuse of the sentiment behind the offer, we’re offering this for physical books please.’
