The A1 is currently closed northbound between the B6325 and the A6075 with delays approaching the closure.
This closure is due to a lorry fire that is carrying chemicals.
Emergency services and specialist recovery contractors are working at the scene.
For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey.
If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media.

Diversion route details and guidance is as follows;
Exit the A1 at the B6325 North Muskham Interchange and tak the B6325 to South Muskham. At the mini roundabout turn right onto the A616 through the villages of Kneesall and Ompton to Ollerton.
