Traffic on the M1 was stopped after a van caught fire.
Highways England reported the incident between J27 and J28 at around 11.55am on Saturday 6 June.
All lanes have since reopened with residual delays.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “M1 Northbound J27 to J28. Vehicle fire – delays in the area due to fuel spillage on carriageway.”
The road reopened at around 1.30pm after the incident had been dealt with by the emergency services and Highways England traffic officers.
