£1.2m Government funding for energy saving at Cotgrave Leisure Centre

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has made a grant of £1.214m to carry out the Low Carbon Heating Project that will see low carbon technology such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and building fabric upgrades installed.

The funding, delivered by Salix Finance, has been secured as part of Phase 3b of the Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme grant.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Chief Executive and Director for Neighbourhoods Dave Banks said:

“We’re very pleased Cotgrave Leisure Centre will receive this investment that will continue its decarbonisation journey as a leisure facility as part of the wider centre’s redevelopment.

“It’s part of our Carbon Clever goals to make our venues and operations carbon neutral by 2030, complementing our continual investment into our leisure and recreation opportunities as part of our wider Leisure Strategy.”
