Between 6 July 2022 and 12 July 2022, there have been 1,449,568 tests. This shows a decrease of -0.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Cases in England

A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 2 July 2022 and 8 July 2022, 174,961 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 24.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations in England

Vaccines are given in several doses.

45,116,682 people had been given a first dose by the end of 12 July 2022.

42,283,095 people had been given a second dose by the end of 12 July 2022.

33,288,143 people had been given a booster or third dose by the end of 12 July 2022.

Healthcare in England

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 5 July 2022 and 11 July 2022, 13,029 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows an increase of 18.1% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 13,741 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 13 July 2022.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 274 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 13 July 2022.

Deaths in England

Between 2 July 2022 and 8 July 2022, there have been 691 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 32.6% compared to the previous 7 days.
