Nottinghamshire weather – Wednesday 16 September

Wednesday is expected to be cool and unsettled, with frequent cloud and showers or light rain possible through much of the day.

Temperatures remain modest, reaching around 18C at best during the afternoon.

Early morning starts cloudy with showers likely. Temperatures are around 13C from 6am to 7am, rising to 14C by 8am and 9am. The chance of rain is 60% early on, easing to 40% at 8am but rising again to 50% by 9am. Winds are mainly westerly at around 5mph to 6mph, with gusts between 16mph and 19mph.

By mid-morning, the unsettled theme continues. Temperatures rise from 15C at 10am to 16C at 11am, with a 50% chance of rain. Winds remain westerly at around 6mph, with gusts close to 20mph. Visibility is very good, and humidity gradually falls from the high 70s to the mid-70s.

Around midday and into the early afternoon, showers remain possible. Temperatures reach 17C between midday and 2pm, with rain chances between 50% and 60%. Winds turn west-north-westerly or westerly at around 6mph, with gusts increasing to around 21mph to 23mph. The UV level reaches 3 during the middle part of the day.

During the afternoon, temperatures peak at around 18C at 3pm before easing to 17C by 4pm. The chance of rain falls from 40% to 30%, with some brighter spells possible between areas of cloud. Winds remain westerly at around 6mph, with gusts around 22mph to 23mph.

By evening, it stays mostly cloudy with a few brighter spells early on. Temperatures fall from 17C at 5pm and 6pm to 14C by 10pm and 11pm. The rain risk is lower early in the evening, around 10% to 30%, but rises again to 50% by 10pm and 11pm. Winds become west-south-westerly to south-westerly later, around 5mph to 7mph, with gusts generally between 15mph and 18mph.
