New residential moorings will be created as part of an investment of more than £1 million at Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina, with improvements scheduled to take place in early 2026.
The investment announced by Aquavista Watersides, based in Sawley, East Midlands, will focus on upgrading infrastructure and facilities at the marina, supporting its role as a distinctive residential and leisure destination in the heart of the city.
Located close to Nottingham city centre, the marina offers a unique blend of city energy and waterside serenity, and a different way to experience urban living. It combines the convenience, culture, and connectivity of city life with the flexibility and character of living on the water. The planned improvements will enhance the experience for existing berth holders while creating new opportunities for those looking to live or spend leisure time in a unique waterside setting.
Beginning in January 2026, Aquavista’s investment will bring a comprehensive uplift to the site, including new pontoons, enhanced safety and security, upgraded Wi-Fi, and an aesthetic refresh. The facilities building will undergo a full refurbishment, introducing modern en suite bathrooms alongside practical additions such as a dedicated dog-wash station.
From 1 April 2026, following completion of the refurbishment, Aquavista will introduce new residential moorings at the marina, creating a rare opportunity for those seeking the best of both worlds: city living with the added dimension of life on the water.
Residents will enjoy a unique lifestyle package that includes an official UK address, personal post box and storage facilities, complimentary laundry and boat pump-out services, and a range of added benefits designed to support simple, urban living.
Paula Hewitt, Marina Manager, said:
“Living by the water has a magic of its own. It’s calming, it’s grounding, and it gives people a place to breathe. This investment is about creating a welcoming environment where people can enjoy that balance every day.”
Deborah Hunt, Sales & Marketing Director at Aquavista, added:
“Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina offers something genuinely special. You’re just moments from Nottingham’s buzzing city centre, yet the waterside brings a different pace and perspective. It’s sociable, it’s characterful, and it offers people space alongside city convenience. This investment will enhance that experience even further, creating an exceptional place to live and enjoy life.”
