Teenager critical after BMW collides with three pedestrians on Linby village footpath

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision involving a car and three pedestrians.

Officers were called to Linby Lane, Linby, shortly before 9pm on Friday (June 5) after a BMW collided with three pedestrians walking on a footpath.

The pedestrians included a man and woman in their 60s who sustained serious injuries and an 18-year-old man whose condition is described as critical. All three remain in hospital.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He remains in custody.

Linby Lane was shut between Moor Road and Wighay Road while emergency services responded to the incident. The road reopened shortly before 8am today (6 June).

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road and we believe there will be a number of witnesses who may have seen the vehicle involved, a blue BMW, in the moments before the incident.

“If you can help, and have not yet spoken to an officer, please get in touch without delay.

“Likewise, any drivers who were in the area around this time should please get in touch if they have any relevant dashcam footage which could assist.”
