£3,000 cash and drugs recovered in Nottingham city Operation Reacher raid

Reacher teams are now operating in all 12 neighbourhood policing areas across the force.

Cannabis and cash were recovered in a proactive Misuse of Drugs Act  Warrant in Nottingham city centre.

The warrant, conducted at an apartment in Canal Street on Friday 13 November, saw a combined effort from the city centre Neighbourhood Policing Team and the city centre Op Reacher team.

A large quantity of cannabis and approximately £3,000 in cash was recovered alongside other evidence of drug dealing.

Sergeant Alice Bartle, who leads the city centre Op Reacher team, said: “We work closely with the public to gather intelligence around suspicious activity in the city.

“We investigated this apartment as a result of some excellent community feedback and we are pleased to have recovered drugs and cash as part of our enquiries.

“An individual was questioned in relation to possession with intent to supply class B drugs and our investigation is ongoing.

Operation Reacher was launched across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in just over a month ago.

In that time, a total of 250 people have been arrested or interviewed under caution as part of their efforts to clamp down on crime across the city and county.

Officers from the Reacher teams have also carried out 176 warrants or searches, recovered more than £338,000 in suspected criminal cash and carried out 479 stop and searches.

Reacher teams are now operating in all 12 neighbourhood policing areas across the force.

Other successes during that time include recovering 58 weapons, issuing 114 traffic offence tickets and seizing 88 vehicles.
