39 cows die after lorry overturns and crashes into cars in Notts

A vet was called but couldn't save the animals.

The vehicle loaded with 39 cows through Upper Broughton, Nottinghamshire, crashed into two parked cars and a house early this morning.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We got a call from a member of the public reporting a heavy goods lorry on its side, hitting car and house.

“The lorry collided with two parked cars and a house.

The road was closed to traffic for most of the day while investigations took place and the lorry was recovered.

‘Many of you will have been affected by the road closures today after this incident.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service would like to thank all at The Tap and Run at Upper Broughton for keeping us refreshed during the day.’
