Officers are currently in the Sneinton area following reports of a possible firearm discharge during the early hours of today (Tuesday 24 March 2020).
Police were called to Ladysmith Street and officers are now working hard to establish the circumstances.
No-one is thought to have been injured.
A cordon has been set up while searches of the area are carried out.
It follows reports of loud bangs heard in the area between 11.30pm and midnight yesterday.
Officers are investigating the possibility of the discharge of a firearm and patrols have been increased in the area to provide reassurance to local residents.
