The National Justice Museum has been highly commended in the Learning Programme of the Year category at this year’s national Museums and Heritage Awards.
Presented at an online ceremony on Tuesday 22 September 2020, the commendation was for the Museum’s knife crime prevention exhibition and workshopsChoices and Consequences, Nottingham which were launched last year in partnership with the Ben Kinsella Trust.
Gill Brailey, Director of Learning at the National Justice Museum said: “This is terrific for everyone involved at the Museum and at the Ben Kinsella Trust.Choices and Consequences changes young people’s attitudes to knife crime. We are really proud to have developed this important exhibition in Nottingham, and to be able to offer the programme to schools throughout the midlands.”
The Award comes as the National Justice Museum has launched a new live ‘down the line’ workshop to ensure schools across the region can continue to benefit from Choices and Consequences, Nottingham even if they feel unable to visit the exhibition in the present climate.
Choices and Consequences is one of seven National Justice Museum workshops now available for schools to book as live ‘down the line’ sessions. Each session is led by the Museum’s expert facilitators from exhibition and courtroom spaces direct via Zoom and Teams into the classroom.
