A fire in an abandoned former health service building is being investigated as an arson attack.
Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at the Pease Hill Centre, in Furze Gardens, St Ann’s, around 7.15pm on Saturday (5 July).
A large number of police and fire service resources were deployed to the scene following reports people may have been inside the building.
Searches proved negative and it is not believed anyone was injured in the fire.
A joint police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service investigation has taken place and it is believed the fire was lit deliberately.
Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The fire has caused extensive damage to parts of the building and required a large number of emergency services personnel to bring under control.
“Lighting any fire is extremely reckless and has the potential to result in devastating consequences.
“Following an investigation this incident is now being treated as an arson attack and we are determined to track down those responsible.
“If you have any information, or relevant CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage, please get in touch.”
