Nottinghamshire Weather: Wednesday 27 August

Wednesday will be a day of two halves: dry and bright early on, then wet and breezy around the middle of the day, before settling down again towards the evening.

Early on, conditions will be mostly dry with some clear spells. Temperatures will sit around 14°C at dawn, climbing gradually to 15°C by 08:00 and 17°C by 09:00. Winds will be light from the south and south-southwest, and visibility will remain very good.

By midday, cloud will increase with the first signs of rain arriving late in the morning. Temperatures will rise to around 20°C at 11:00 and 21°C by noon. Showers will become more widespread, with rain chances reaching 50 per cent. Winds will strengthen from the south-west, with gusts picking up.

In the afternoon, the rain will become more persistent and heavy at times, with a high chance of showers between 13:00 and 15:00 where probabilities rise to 90–95 per cent. Despite the rain, temperatures will stay mild at around 21°C before easing back slightly later.

During the evening, showers will fade and skies will clear gradually. Temperatures will slip back from 18°C at 20:00 to 15°C by late evening. Winds from the south-west will ease, and conditions will become drier with good visibility returning.
