Rushcliffe MP James Naish has celebrated the strength and spirit of the local business community with the Rushcliffe Small Business Awards.
Rushcliffe is home to a wealth of exceptional small businesses that drive the local economy, support local jobs and help shape the area.
To highlight their contribution, James launched the Rushcliffe Small Business Awards this year, encouraging residents to nominate their favourite local enterprises.

100s of nominations were received across six categories: Best Small Shop; Best Health, Beauty and Leisure Service; Best Trade Service; Best Hospitality Business; Best Professional Service; and Best Rural Business.
On Saturday, James visited each of the winners to confirm that they had been successful, surprising them with their award and thanking them for their continued commitment to the community.

The winners of the Rushcliffe Small Business Awards 2025 are:
- Best Small Shop – Gallery 119, Sutton Bonington
- Best Health, Beauty and Leisure Service – Warren’s Barber Shop, West Bridgford
- Best Trade Service – Bridgford Bicycle Workshop, West Bridgford
- Best Hospitality Business – The Royal Oak, Radcliffe-on-Trent
- Best Professional Service – Captcha Photography, East Leake
- Best Rural Business – Elms Farm, Costock
Reflecting on the awards, James said: “Small businesses are at the heart of our community. They’re the places people rely on every day, and they help make Rushcliffe a welcoming, vibrant place to live and work. A huge congratulations to all the winners who received some incredible testimonials.”
“I’ll be writing to everybody who was nominated over the coming weeks, and look forward to receiving more nominations next year.”

There are an estimated 5.45 million small businesses across the UK. Although Small Business Saturday takes place on a specific date every year, it is described as a ‘year-round national movement’ that seeks to put the spotlight on small businesses which have a large impact on their communities. The campaign is in its thirteenth year in the UK and is supported by MPs, councils and a whole host of other organisations across the UK.
