Bassetlaw councillor defects to Reform UK

Reform UK says that it has today 25 February welcomed Bassetlaw District councillor Simon Richardson to the party.

Cllr Richardson, who represents the Rampton ward, has joined Reform councillors on the local authority.

Simon has lived in Nottinghamshire for more than two decades. Outside of his valued work as a councillor, Simon is the CEO and director of a primary care and health tech company, bringing 29 years experience to the role.

Commenting following his defection, Cllr Simon Richardson said:

“Today, I am proud to announce that I am joining Reform UK. I joined the council with the aim of bettering the lives of the local residents in Rampton, but there is only so much I can do as an Independent.

“Reform UK aligns with both my values and the needs of my community. I look forward to working with Reform Members, Councillors and the wider Reform Team to deliver the change my ward and district desperately need.”

Welcoming Cllr Richardson, a Reform UK spokesman said:

“We are delighted to welcome Simon to Reform UK. He is an excellent addition to our growing team on the council as we build towards the May elections.”
