A cool and unsettled start to Friday is expected across the area, with early rain clearing to brighter spells through the afternoon before a dry but chilly evening.
Early morning
Rain is likely through the early hours, with the highest chance of showers between 6am and 8am when precipitation risk reaches around 80 per cent. Conditions gradually improve towards mid-morning as rain becomes lighter and more patchy. Temperatures will sit between 6C and 7C, feeling cooler in a north-westerly wind of around 10 to 11mph, with gusts reaching 25mph at times.

Midday
Cloudy conditions are expected to persist into late morning and around midday, although the likelihood of rain reduces to between 20 and 30 per cent. Temperatures will slowly climb to around 8C. Winds remain from the north-west at around 9 to 10mph, keeping conditions feeling cool despite brighter intervals beginning to develop.

Afternoon
Through the afternoon, skies are expected to brighten with occasional sunny spells developing. There remains a small chance of isolated showers, with rain risk fluctuating between 30 and 50 per cent. Daytime highs will reach around 9C. Winds ease slightly and turn more westerly at around 10 to 11mph, with gusts near 22 to 23mph.

Evening
Cloud cover increases again into the evening, with mainly dry conditions and only a small chance of light showers. Temperatures fall steadily from around 8C at 5pm to near 6C by late evening, with overnight lows dropping to around 3C. Winds turn south to south-westerly and become lighter at 6 to 8mph, making for a cold end to the day.
