Police are asking for help to reunite a woman with some extremely sentimental items which were in her purse.
The woman, who is aged in her 70s, was out shopping in Main Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, around 1.30pm on 18 April.
She paid for items in greengrocer Fruiticious before walking a few doors to the Nottinghamshire Hospice shop.
On entering the second shop, she noticed her bag was unzipped and her red purse was missing.
Officers believe she is likely to have been the victim of a theft.
The purse contained cash, bank cards and vouchers as well as a number of sentimental items, including photographs of her children when they were much younger, drawings the children had done and her father’s old driving licence.
Police Constable Robin Gurney, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The lady is certain she zipped up the bag before walking to the next shop so we are working on the assumption her purse has been stolen.
“She is extremely upset and we have made her aware of the support available.
“If anyone has found any items matching those sentimental items which are missing I’d urge them to get in touch.
“They are of no value to anyone else but have huge sentimental value for this lady and we’d love to reunite her with them.”
Anyone with any information should call police non 101, quoting incident 26000235114.
