Two men have appeared in court following a disturbance in a residential street.
Police officers were called to Minerva Grove, Hucknall, at 3.50pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026 after an argument broke out between two men.
A member of the public reported seeing a weapon and so armed officers were dispatched to the scene.
No injuries were reported and two men were arrested at the scene.
Jahvace Spencer, aged 23, of Yewdale Close, Clifton, has been charged with affray, possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on 30 April and was granted conditional bail ahead of his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 June.
Ben Smithen, aged 41, of Tunstall Crescent, Aspley, Nottingham, has been charged with affray and possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place. He also appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on 30 April and was granted conditional bail ahead of his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 3 June.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Gregg, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“As highlighted in this instance we will continue to work relentlessly to tackle weapon-related incidents.
“I am pleased we have managed to secure two arrests in relation to this incident and place suspects before the courts.
“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire and we will always take robust action against anyone found to be carrying dangerous weapons and making threats.”
