Ollie, 8, from West Bridgford is cycling 33 miles from Grantham to support Guide Dogs.
An eight-year-old boy is taking on a 33-mile cycling challenge to raise money for Guide Dogs after being inspired by a visitor to his primary school.
Ollie Rhodes will cycle home from Grantham along the canal, swapping his usual five-mile bike rides for the much longer journey. He will be accompanied by his dad, Chris Rhodes, who plans to run the full 33 miles alongside him.
Ollie said he was inspired by Terry and his guide dog Charlie, who used to visit his school. After Charlie recently became unwell, Terry now has to rely on a white cane, prompting Ollie to raise funds so more people with sight loss can benefit from the support of a guide dog.

‘I’m 8 years old, and I’m swapping my usual 5-mile bike rides for a massive challenge, cycling 33 miles home from Grantham along the canal!
‘I’m raising money for Guide Dogs, inspired by Terry and his dog Charlie, who used to visit my primary school. Charlie recently became unwell, and now Terry has to rely on a white cane instead. I want to help ensure more people can benefit from the amazing support of a guide dog. I’ve been training hard every weekend to help me reach my goal.
‘If you can spare a few pounds to help me reach my target, I’d be so grateful. Thank you :).’
Ollie will be accompanied on his ride by his dad, Chris Rhodes, who will run the 33 miles next to Ollie on his bike.

More information from the Guide Dogs charity:
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life — a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to ensure the challenges of sight loss are no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
