Boy, 16, stabbed ‘several times’ in Sneinton incident

Detectives have launched an investigation following a stabbing in Sneinton.

Police were called to Carlton Road, near King Edward Park, shortly before 7.30 pm on Friday (26 June) following reports that a child had been attacked by a group of youths.

Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy with several stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and treated for injuries that are thankfully not now believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Following the incident, Carlton Road was closed at its junctions with Dakeyne Street, Handel Street, and Alfred Street South to allow investigative work to take place.

Inquiries to trace those involved are underway, and anyone with information is asked to come forward immediately.

Detective Inspector Ed Cook, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As you would expect, we are treating this incident extremely seriously.

“An investigation is currently ongoing as we look to determine exactly what happened and seek to find those responsible for this assault.

“On that note, I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to please come forward and speak to us.

“We would particularly like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage whilst in the area.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 749 of 26 June 2026. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
