Officers investigating a hate crime in Sherwood have issued an image of two individuals they would like to trace.
Police were called to the Co-op in Mansfield Road after youths entered the store and behaved in an antisocial and disruptive manner.
During the incident, homophobic comments were directed at a member of staff.
The incident happened at around 6.45pm on 27 July. It was later reported that the same youths returned to the store a few days later and behaved in a similar way.
Officers have carried out a number of enquiries and are now asking the public for assistance in identifying the two individuals as their investigation continues.
PCSO Jason Sergeant, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The behaviour reported during this incident was completely unacceptable and has no place in our society.
“Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect while carrying out their role. We are supporting the individual affected and are taking this matter extremely seriously.
“As part of our investigation, we are appealing to the public for help to identify the youths shown in these images.
“Anyone who recognises them is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 26*449440.”
