A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Sandiacre saw a man taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at 11.30pm yesterday (3 July) when we received a report from the East Midlands Ambulance Service to reports that a man had suffered stab wounds at a set of flats in Town Street, Sandiacre.
Officers quickly attended the scene and two officers found a man in his 20s, from the Swadlincote area had suffered a number of serious stab wounds.
One of the officers provided immediate first aid to the man, while the other arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of attempted murder.
The arrested man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
The man in his 20s has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious, but stable, condition.
A scene remains in place at the property in Town Street and officers and staff will be in the area this morning as enquiries continue.
