Nottingham road users are being warned of a series of closures, lane restrictions and temporary traffic lights affecting routes across the city over the coming weeks.
The works include long-running closures and utility schemes, as well as emergency restrictions introduced following incidents and urgent repairs.
Lindfield Road remains closed between Alwyn Road and Shipley Road for Severn Trent works. The closure began on Sunday 15 March and is scheduled to remain in place until Friday 21 August.
Nuthall Road will continue to be affected by several sets of works. A lane closure between Western Boulevard and Melbourne Road, in place since Monday 20 April for footway works, is due to continue until Friday 17 July. Separate lane closures will also be in place between Western Boulevard and Aspley Lane from Monday 6 July to Saturday 25 July for drainage works.
Emergency road closures are also in place from Thursday 2 July to Wednesday 8 July because of an incident affecting Nuthall Road, Broxtowe Lane and Stockhill Lane, with carriageway works being carried out.
Gas works are expected to cause disruption in several areas. Multi-way lights are in place at the Lambourne Drive junction of Ellwood Crescent until Friday 10 July for Cadent Gas works. Further Cadent works are taking place in Bramcote Lane, between Wollaton Road and Parkside, where multi-way lights are scheduled until Friday 31 July.
Western Boulevard will also be affected, with a lane closure from Wilkinson Street to opposite Newport Drive until Monday 6 July for Cadent Gas works. A separate southbound lane closure between Holbeck Road and Beechdale Road is scheduled from Friday 3 July to Saturday 4 July for BT works, while a lane closure at the junction with Newport Drive is planned from Saturday 25 July to Sunday 26 July for Severn Trent works.
In Mansfield Road, an outbound lane closure just after the junction with Hucknall Road is in place until Tuesday 7 July for emergency National Grid works. On Sunday 5 July, a further lane closure will be in place outbound from opposite St Andrew’s Road towards Goose Fair island for BT works. From Monday 27 July to Friday 14 August, the southbound bus lane from Goose Fair island to Forest Road East will be closed for resurfacing works.
Ilkeston Road will also see disruption. Temporary lights are in place at the four-way junction with Faraday Road and Wollaton Road until Monday 6 July for repairs to traffic signals following a traffic accident. A bus lane closure between Rothesay Avenue and Bulwer Road is scheduled until Thursday 9 July for emergency National Grid works. Later in the month, a lane closure will be in place between Balfour Road and Albert Grove from Wednesday 29 July to Friday 31 July, also for National Grid works.
Other utility works include two-way lights in Park Lane, between Brooklyn Road and Gayhurst Road, from Friday 3 July to Tuesday 7 July for Severn Trent works, and a road closure in Goose Gate, between Brightmoor Street and Belward Street, from Saturday 4 July to Sunday 5 July, also for Severn Trent works.
Further restrictions are planned across the city later in July. Clifton Lane will have a lane closure between Ruddington Lane from Monday 6 July to Wednesday 8 July for highways works. University Boulevard will have a lane closure at the junction with Lower Road from Friday 10 July to Saturday 11 July, while Trowell Road will have a lane closure at its junction with Wollaton Vale on Monday 13 July for Severn Trent works.
Queens Bower Road will be affected from Monday 13 July to Friday 24 July, with a lane closure from Deer Park Drive to just after Mildenhall Crescent to allow safe access for carriageway resurfacing.
Temporary lights are also planned in several residential areas. Four-way lights will be in place in St Alban’s Road at the junction with Kersall Drive from Friday 17 July to Monday 20 July for National Grid works. Three-way lights will be used in Farnborough Road, from Swansdowne Drive towards Southchurch Drive, from Monday 20 July to Sunday 26 July for Severn Trent works.
Radford Road will have two-way lights between Isandula Road and Silverdale Road from Monday 20 July to Wednesday 29 July for development works. Three-way temporary lights will also be in place in Johnson Road, between Elmsthorpe Avenue and Dunlop Avenue, from Monday 20 July to Friday 31 July for a new gas connection into a development.
Hoewood Road will be affected for a longer period, with two-way lights between Rock Street and Milford Close from Monday 13 July to Friday 2 October for gas main replacement works.
Camberley Road will have temporary lights between Blenheim Lane and Limekiln Court from Monday 27 July to Friday 7 August for Cadent Gas works, while two-way lights will be in place in Westbury Road, between Perry Road and Lortas Road, on Friday 24 July for telecoms maintenance works.
Motorists, cyclists and public transport passengers are advised to allow extra time for journeys, particularly on routes where emergency works, gas works and resurfacing are taking place at the same time.
