Three arrested after attempted burglary report

Three arrested after attempted burglary report in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after police responded to a reported attempted burglary in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Officers were called to a property in The Oval at around 1.30pm on Monday 6 July following reports that an attempted break-in was taking place.

A Seat Leon was seen leaving the area as police arrived. Officers followed the vehicle and signalled for it to stop, but it initially continued and items were reportedly thrown from a window.

A passenger then left the car and attempted to run away but was detained nearby. The vehicle was later located outside an address in Bowne Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Police said the passenger, a 24-year-old man, was found with a burner phone, while a bag containing quantities of cocaine was also recovered.

He was arrested on suspicion of offences including attempted burglary and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Officers subsequently attended the Bowne Street address, where a 30-year-old man suspected of driving the Seat Leon was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, possession with intent to supply cocaine and failing to stop.

A 25-year-old woman at the property was later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs after cocaine and cannabis were found in the garden.

PC Jodie Ferrol, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the arrests followed searches of the suspects and the recovery of suspected drugs.

All three arrests were made on suspicion and no charges or court proceedings were detailed in the police statement.
